A Being's Nuzlocke: Size Determines Strength

Setting: The bright neon lights of Nimbasa Gym is where Benoliz took his Pokemon to prove themselves; having been trained, Ben confidently marches straight ahead.

Llia: "We’re behind you like always, Ben!"

Benoliz: "Mmhm. Electric types are ever present here, though…so Llia, stay back whenever possible, okay? You too Jemma."

Llia: "I understand, Benoliz."

Jemma: "Okay. I…don’t like electricity anyway."

Ienzot: (Stepping forward) "I can take care of this, Benoliz."

Benoliz: "Alright. I’ll count on you then."

They ride in the roller coaster, zipping around the gym....

Benoliz: (Getting out, gasping for air) "I think I’m..gunna be sick…"

Ienzot: "Come Benoliz. The challenge awaits."

Benoliz: (Sighing) "Alright, alright…" (They approach the gym leader, Elesa)

Elesa: "Did those rides leave you in a daze? Hmhmhm. My Pokémon will certainly make your head spin!" (She throws a pokeball, releasing an Emolga)

*Ienzot uses Poison Tail on Emolga; critical hit OHKO!*

Elesa: "…Shocking…"

Ienzot: "Give me more! I want more!"

Benoliz: (Has a concerned look as another Emolga is sent out) "Poison tail again, Ienzot!"

*She delivers another critical OHKO, but static takes effect, paralyzing her*

Ienzot: "Rrrgh…rats."

Benoliz: "You've done great, Ienzot. Switch with Miki for this." (Throws her pokeball)

Ienzot: "Hmph…"

Miki: "Can’t have you grabbing all the spotlight, after all!" (Elesa sends a Zebrastrika out)

Benoliz: "Use dig, Miki!"

Elesa: "A properly dramatic victory requires a dash of danger and a pinch of peril."

*Zebstrika uses volt switch, but Miki uses dig, bringing it to low health*

Elesa: "You and your Pokémon…are shining brightly..! (She uses a hyper potion on Zebrastrika)

Miki: "Grrrarf!" (She uses crunch, but gets hit with another volt switch, in low yellow HP)

Benoliz: "Miki..!"

Miki: "It’s nothing! I’ll show this fireworks display what’s what!" (Uses Dig again, this time KOing it)

Benoliz: "Great job, Miki..!"

Miki: (Suddenly glowing before she can react) "Wha…?!"

Miki evolved into a Stoutland!

Ienzot: "A suitable size for a strong heart."

Miki: "I…thanks, er, Ienzot...?"

Elesa: "Hrm. I meant to make your head spin, but you shocked me instead…you have earned this badge." (Handing Benoliz the Bolt badge) "Take it."

Benoliz: "Thank you. I owe it to my partners."

Elesa: "The next badge would be in Driftveil...meet me in Route 5; I’ll get the bridge lowered for you."

Setting:Following the Gym Leader's instructions, Benoliz and his team went back to Route 5...where he would find Lufan blocking the path.

Lufan: "Benoliz, stop right there…! We’ve got the 4th badge. This time I’m going to win against you!" (Throws a pokeball, sending out a Leopard)

Benoliz: "Heh. Stubborn. Alright, let’s get this going. Jemma, you can handle this!"

*Jemma uses Air Cutter and gets a critical OHKO on his Leopard; Lufan sends out a Panpour, but it gets OHKO'd as well*

Lufan: (Gritting his teeth) "Hrmm…" (Sends out a Tranquil)

Benoliz: "Jemma, come back. Llia, you’re up!"

Llia: "Roger, Ben!" (Uses razor shell on the Tranquil, KOing it easily; Lufan sends out his starter, Evritt)

Benoliz: "Clyde, take care of that Servine!"

Clyde: "Raahh!" (He uses flame burst; a direct hit but not a KO)

Evritt: "Jusssst like lassst time, Monkey! (Uses leech seed and eats a Sitrus berry)

Clyde: "It’s going to end the same as last time, too..!" (Uses flame burst again through a summoned up leaf storm, koing the Servine)

Lufan: (Shaking his head) "Again…as usual, you best me. Why can’t I beat you?!"

Elesa: (Coming from behind them) "Oh...you two are friends? That’s nice that you both compete; it certainly will help you on your way to being champion. Let’s go."

As the Gym Leader walks past the two trainers, a tall figure with an opened lab-coat came up to Benoliz and Lufan..!

???: "Ah-ha, Lufan! Benoliz!"

Lufan: "Chief Science Officer Exclamatory..!"

Elesa: "And…he is also Unova’s new champion."

Exclamatory: "And this must be Elesa, the Nimbasa city gym leader, of course."

Benoliz: "What are you doing here, sir?"

Exclamatory: "Well, it wasn't my intention, running into you. I was just observing the festivities here. Pokémon and People entertaining one another through music and battle."

Lufan: "But…sir, why would want to be here of all places? Surely there are bigger things for a champion to do…not goofing off here!"

Exclamatory: (Crossing his arms) "Hmph. I suggest you reserve your judgement, Lufan. I am on a voyage here. Being the champion gives me access to roam all corners of the region."

Lufan: "But…why would you want us to take on the Pokémon League if you've already done that for the Inquisitors?"

Elesa: "…?"

Benoliz: "Uh…Lufan.."

Exclamatory: (Grinning) "Certainly this fact doesn't stop you? It just means you will have to best me if you want the title of champion yourself. Our group needs various perspectives into this Pokémon League challenge matter. Besides…even if you become the champion…what then? What is the next step for you to take?"

Lufan: "…well I’ll just keep getting stronger!"

Exclamatory: "Hmm…indeed! I wonder if such a goal is good enough alone? Until next time, Lufan; Benoliz. Good luck." (He walks off)

Elesa: (On her Xtransciever) "Yes, it’s me. Could you lower the bridge? Thanks."

Lufan: (Looking down) "Being champion means being the strongest...that’s all there is to it…"

Elesa: "You guys can cross now; I have a gig to take. See ya." (She takes her leave)

Benoliz: "Thanks Elesa. Good bye."

Lufan: "Hmph. I’ll do it. I’ll beat Commandant Exclamatory." (Runs off to the bridge)

Llia: "Ben…are you worried about Lufan?"

Benoliz: "…I…yeah. He seems slightly obsessed."

Ienzot: "He wants power. What is wrong about that?"

Benoliz: "Depends on how far you’d go to get it…"

I quite like the turnout of this one!
Ienzot the Scolipede quickly became a strong member of the team. Not much else for me to say except tune in next week!
