Because we eat turkey, duhhh...?
Because commercialism of a fowl is more important than giving thanks.
The chicken didn't cross the road in time and the turkey was right there and people are impatient..
It's amusing to say.
I don't live in a country where/I don't celebrate thanksgiving/'turkey day' and don't know.

I'm pretty sure there is a big history about why we eat turkey instead of chicken but just never watched a documentary about it or completely forgot what they told me when I was in grade school.
